Jag saknar snön, det är så mörkt, blött och råkallt utan minusgrader och snö! Norröver verkar det vara vinter på gång, men Uppsala kommer ha ca 8 grader och regn hela veckan!
Samtidigt är vi i stearinljusens årstid och det är ju härligt!
I miss the snow, it’s so dark, raw and chilly. In the north of Sweden winter has arrived, but here the temperature is supposed to stay on the red side of the thermometer, 45 Fahrenheit the whole week! Thankfully this is the season when we light
a lot of candles, and I love that!

Some of our stars for advent didn’t survive the trip from Montgomery. We went to the store to buy some new ones. The black one to the right was called Minna, so of course we just had to have that one!
We bought a Christmas tree online and got it delivered to the house.
Last year we had some difficulty finding a tree. All but one was taken! In USA you get a Christmas tree right after Halloween, but here in Sweden we get the trees just before Christmas.

I år har lärare jullov från 18/12-11/1.
Min kollega och jag är just nu inne i en hektisk period av nationella prov och betygsättning. Tack och lov har vi båda lyckats hålla oss friska. Om någon vuxen på skolan är hemma och är sjuk måste man stanna hemma till att man varit symtomfri
i 48 timmar, oftast innebär detta att man är hemma från jobbet i en hel vecka! Detta har förstås väldigt stor inverkan på de som fortfarande är på jobbet.
Two weeks, 10 school days until Christmas break. This year teachers are on Christmas break from 18 th of December to 11 th January.
My colleague and I have a lot to do at work right now, it’s stressful with national testing and grading at the same time. Thankfully both of us are staying healthy. If an adult at school is sick he or she has to stay at home 48 hours after the last
known symptoms. Often this means that that adult is away from work for a whole week. This has a big impact on those of us that are still there!
