Jag och Niclas har lyxen att vara lediga länge på somrarna. Flickorna är förstås lediga ännu längre än oss. Den här sommaren har präglats av väldigt varmt väder, småfix på huset, många Netflixfilmer och serier, covid vaccin, att äntligen kunna umgås lite mer och med några fler än tidigare, lata dagar och sovmorgnar och många fantastiska kvällar på verandan! Inte att förglömma så var det den här sommaren Siri lärde sig att bjuda på kaffedrinkar!
Niclas and I have the luxury to have long summer vacations. The girls have even more days than us. This summer there’s been a lot of very warm weather, some smaller projects on the house, Netflix movies and series, covid vaccines; so nice to
finally be able to see friends and family a lot more then earlier, lazy days and mornings and an incredible amount of fantastic warm evenings on the patio, mostly Niclas and I but sometimes with the company of the girls, and lately
the cat after we secured the area! Last but not the least Siri has now mastered how to make delicious coffee drinks!

När Minna hade fått sin första vaccination och jag min andra bestämde vi oss för att göra en liten tur längs med östkusten norrut. Bara Minna och jag, Niclas och Siri stannade hemma. Vi hamnade i Hudiksvall, en stad ingen av oss har besökt tidigare.
Det var tydligt att detta är en populär sommarstad, mycket folk överallt. Vi ville se oss omkring så mycket vi kunde, men var noga med att inte stressa. Däremot gjorde vi en hel del "tiddelipom" som Nalle Puh kallar det när
man åker lite lagom planlöst med bil på nya vägar.
After Minna had received her first vaccine and I my second we decided to make a little road trip. It was just the two of us, Niclas and Siri stayed at home. We followed the east coast north to the town Hudiksvall. None of us have ever visited this
town before. It’s obvious that this is a popular area to visit in the summertime, there were lot of people everywhere. We tried to see and discover the town and it’s beautiful surroundings but we tried hard not to stress.
Vi bestämde oss tidigt för att inte ha bråttom upp till Hudiksvall, så vi undvek E4;an så mycket vi kunde. Vi stannade för lunch på Axmars brygga.
We decided at an early stage not to rush to our hotel in Hudiksvall, and choosed smaller roads instead of the Highway. We stopped for lunch at Axmar brygga.

"Axmarbruk, där Axmarbrygga Havskrog är beläget, grundades på 1670-talet, förstördes under de ryska truppernas härjningar 1721, men byggdes snart upp igen.
De byggnader som finns att se idag är från 1860-talet. Då uppfördes här ett helt nytt järnverk med masugn, smedja och valsverk. Det var en för sin tid mycket modern anläggning, men den snabba teknikutvecklingen under slutet av 1800-talet gjorde att det snabbt blev föråldrat. Järnverket var i drift fram till 1927. Hyttan står nu kvar som ett ståtligt monument från järnbrukstiden."

Axmarbruk, where Axmarbrygga Havskrog is located, was founded in the 1670s. It was destroyed during the ravages of the Russian troops in 1721, but was soon rebuilt.
The buildings that can be seen today are from the 1860s. Then a completely new ironworks was built here with a blast furnace, smithy and rolling mill. It was a very modern facility at the time, but the rapid technological development during the late 19th
century meant that it quickly became obsolete. The ironworks was in operation until 1927. The old smeltery now remains as a stately monument from the ironworks era."

På vår väg mot Hudiksvall åkte vi igenom Söderhamn. Vi blev alldeles fascinerade av kyrkan, husen och blomsterprakten! Vi vandrade runt i stan en liten stund innan vi rullade vidare.
On our way to Hudiksvall we passed the town Söderhamn. Such a beautiful little town! We wandered around for a bit before continuing our journey.

Ulrika Eleonora kyrka
Kyrkan i Söderhamn är en korskyrka med en vackert röd färg. Byggd i slutet av 1600-talet av stadens borgare, den har fått namn efter drottningen Ulrika Eleonora, kung Karl XII:s mor.

Första kvällen åt vi gott på Möljens café och grill. I övrigt utforskade vi staden.

Gott att dricka och fantastisk mat! Grillad scampi med friterad grillost på en bädd av sallad med apelsin och mango.

Nästa dag åkte vi 45 minuter inåt landet till det vackra området kring sjön Dellen. Vi vandrade 6,5 km i vacker svensk natur och åt sedan lunch på Avholmbergets café och restaurang.
The next day we drove 45 minutes inland to the beautiful area around the lake Dellen. We hiked 6,5 km in beautiful nature before having lunch at Avholmbergets cafe and restaurant.

Sweaty and warm, but happy that I were able to walk the whole way without extreme pain. My knees are actually much better than before!

En annan utflykt vi gjorde var till kusten utanför Hudiksvall. Vi åkte till halvön Kuggören. En skön dag med medhavd lunch, vacker natur och lugn och ro. Minna gjorde en skiss över fiskestugorna medan vi lyssnade på musik och The Magnus archives.
The next day we went to the coast outside Hudiksvall. We had chosen the teninsula Kuggören. It was a nice day. We brought lunch that we had on a wharf at an old fisherman village. Minna was drawing while we listened to music and "the Magnus archives".

The ground is filled with rocks and gravel in different shapes and sizes, visible remains from the ice age.
It’s difficult to see but the rocky ground here is shaped like waves from the movement of the ice.
We found this great place to sit and eat our lunch.

Vi knöt ihop en väldigt trevlig resa med att äta lunch på Axmars brygga igen.
We ended our trip as we started it with lunch at Axmars brygga.
