Last week before going back to work again after a work break since June 2019. I can’t help but wonder how this will develop, but I’m guessing that routines and old habits will come back quickly enough. I really do hope so!

hade hemma.
My childhood (middle school and high school friends) and I managed to see each other in Britas cottage in beautiful Stjärnsund. We ate lots of great food and talked about everything that I missed out on in their lives during my year in
USA. It’s interesting that I have a wonderful group of 5 marvelous women here in Sweden, when I had the same amount of friends in my gang of desperates. Maybe I feel extra good in a constellation of 6?

På kartan kan du även hitta Hedemora som är den stad där jag växte upp.
Here on the map you can also find the town Hedemora where I grew up.

Lite större perspektiv/bigger perspective
Stjärnsunds historia;
History;
Stjärnsund is a typical Swedish "ironworks". Places like these were common in Sweden from the early Middle Ages whereever you could find iron. Sweden is still an exporter of iron. You can read about Stjärnsund as early as the 1500s,
but it blossomed the most in the 1700s when Christopher Polhem (1661-1751) lived there. Polhem was an interesting person who despite severe dyslexia and with the help of a photographic memory, understood how machines of all sorts functioned
and how he could improve them. He invented a lot of mechanical machinery during his lifetime. They were mostly used in iron work and mining. One example is his "stånggång" and I have no idea how to translate that.

This is a typical home for the families that worked in the iron works.

My beautiful friends and I

The third is a charm

The Stjärnsund mansion

The beautiful chapel, or i though it was. My friend, Brita has told me that it’s not a chapel but an old fire station:)

Maria found some pots for sale, 40 kr! For both of them ($4)

Looks great outside her newly built greenhouse

This is as Swedish as it can be; red walls, white details and geraniums.

Bye for now. Next time I see you is when we’re on our way to Vemdalen and Klövsjö for 5 great days of hiking.
Vi åkte en liten tur till vår kära Elisabet och hennes familj. De bor så fint i en by ca 45 minuter härifrån.
We also went to visit Elisabet and her family. They live in a charming village 45 minutes from Uppsala.

Mälaren, a big lake that reaches all away to Stockholm and the Baltic sea.

At home we have been working on the house a lot. Minna has done an amazing job together with Niclas and now we are having a very well functioning gym in the basement.

Now we can run and watch Netflix at the same time:)
And then the girls and I went on a little road trip to Måns ols restaurant where we had a rendezvous with my sister and her daughter.
Another beautiful place! For all the Swedes, I can really recommend this restaurant! Excellent food and beautiful surroundings. It’s located in Sala. Bring your swimsuit if you want to.

My sister, Eva almost melting into the greens.

Spots of light

Coffee and dessert:)

Nova with her tattoo of a bike in front of a bike. Well, we thought it was funny...

Minna had two of her friends picking her up for a couple of days in our cabin. I’m told they had a lot of fun with board gaming and hanging out on the dock.

My fathers fiancé had made some of her amazing vanilla buns for them.

Lots of blueberries in the forest and mushrooms too.
Another road trip. This time with my husband. We were invited with some others to join a couple of friends for dinner at their cabin.

Robert and Anna. Love her boots!

Marie and Stefan

The guys. I had them walk in the alignments of their height:)

Beautiful landscapes

Another road trip. Since we’re not going on any longer trip this summer we’re trying to do some traveling in our area instead. This time we went to Sigtuna, it’s a very picturesque and old town.

Holding hands, as they so often do:)
"Sigtuna is Sweden’s first town and is the place with the most runestones in the world. For over 1000 years people from all around the world have met here. The magical castles, the beautiful nature and water, the ruins and the amazing history together with the unique atmosphere from all the shops, restaurants, cafes and hotels are some of the reasons that makes Sigtuna so beloved."

Minna, beautiful and strong

Look at this garden!

Love the door

Hi father, look what I found in one of the shops of deliciousness

Tant Brun, cafe’

Old fashioned candy store

Afterwards we drove to Märsta and Steninge castle.

At Steninge there’s a big barn with art work and interior design.

Some lazy days at home with board gaming

And drinks

And great food!

My turn to try the murrika

Tried to have the cat outside on the patio. Next second he jumped over the chair and disappeared behind the cars. We caught him just minutes after his great escape and he was actually fine with going inside again.

Went to town again.

Minna

One rainy day. We haven’t had that many yet.

Talked to Katja, Adelaide and Ingrid one day

Showing a slight interest for the outside world

My very thoughtful husband came home with 3 kg chanterelles. Fry them with a lot of butter, salt and black pepper and it’s candy from the forest!

On my way to town again. This time to have some lunch with Anastasia.

Everyone has a bike in Uppsala and they have their own roads to ride them on.

This is one of my favorite houses in Uppsala. I love the combination of colors.

A mini princess cake, but I think it looks a lot like something else...

Guntherska caféet since year 1887

Grilled salmon and chèvre, soooo good!

Yes, Niclas loves the cat too!

Hard not to

There was an amazing moon the other night!

I’m Ending my blogging with a promotion for my daughter’s friend’s album. It’s out on Spotify and Apple Music. Her name is
Care Moody. We’re so proud over her!
