This week I’ve been doing a lot of different things. I hardly haven’t got any peace and quiet, but that’s not something I can express at home. Don’t think my hard working family members would appreciate that...😉

Jag känner mig lite duktig. Jag har lyckats hålla min plan med motion varannan dag. Ibland  har jag sällskap, men oftast går jag själv. Varannan dag är vad mina artrosknän klarar av, men det är mer än vad jag trodde att jag skulle kunna klara av, så jag är glad! 

I fel good about myself. I have managed to go out walking every other day for a couple of weeks now. Sometimes I have company but mostly I’m by myself. Either way is nice. Every other day is what my knees filled with arthritis can manage for the moment. But I’m happy because that’s more than I thought I could be able to do!

Most of the lawns are yellow because of the drought, but not this one at the art museum.

I tisdags var jag till kapellet på Maxwells flygbas för att fika med Spousarna. Det är bara en av alla sammankomster basen anordnar. Det är ett enkelt och trevligt sätt att umgås och väldigt bra för de fruar som kanske inte kommer ut så ofta. 

This Tuesday I went to the chapel at Maxwell Air base to have a "fika" with the other spouses. This is one of many occasions for us to meet that the base  is providing. It's a simple and enjoyable way to socialize and very good for the wives that may not be able to leave the house that often.

Senare samma dag var vi hembjudna på bbq i samband med Martin och Andreas födelsedagar. Martin är från Tjeckien och Andrea från Ungern. 

Trevligt sällskap, som vanligt, och mycket god mat.

Later the same day we’re invited for bbq to celebrate Martins and Andrea’s birthdays. Martin is from Czech Republic 🇨🇿 and Andrea is from Hungary 🇭🇺. Nice company, as always, and a lot of tasty food!

På onsdagen var det country briefing på basen igen. Country briefings är ett sätt för alla att få lära sig mer om de internationellas officerarnas bakgrund och länder. Det är riktigt trevligt. Den här gången fick vi lära oss om Italien och Chile. Niclas har sin briefing 6 november. 

This Wednesday I went once again to a country briefing at Maxwell. Country briefings are a way for all of us to learn more about the international officers background and countries. It’s really nice. This time we got to learn more about Italy 🇮🇹 and Chile 🇨🇱. Niclas has his briefing at the 6th of November.

Igår blev jag upphämtad av Karina (Från Danmark) för att åka till Alabama National fair, som är ett kringresande tivoli American style. Här kan du åka berg och dalbana, titta på aligatorer och vargar, vinna (förhoppningsvis) enorma mjukisdjur men också titta på olika djurutsällningar och äta en massa mat förstås. Du kan tävla både med den finaste hunden och den finaste kossan. De har en speciell kategori där barn tävlar med sina kalvar. Vi hade även nöjet att se race med minigrisar. 

Yesterday Karina (from Denmark 🇩🇰) picked me up in her car to go to Alabama national fair, which is a travelling/mobile (?) amusement park American style. On the fair you can go for a ride in the roller coaster, see shows with alligators 🐊 and wolves 🐺, win (if you’re lucky) huge stuffed animals  🧸  and also see a lot of other animals in different exhibitions and of course there’s a lot of food to eat. You can also compete with both the finest dog and the finest cow. They have a special category where children are competing with their finest calves. We also had the pleasure of watching race contests with mini pigs.

Tillbaka till vargarna. Vilda djur ska leva fritt i naturen där de hör hemma, men kanske behövs The wolf project för att lära amerikanska barn att vargar är en naturlig  del av vårt ekosystem och att de behövs för att naturen ska vara i balans. Hemma i Sverige är jag ganska säker på att barnen vet detta, där är det kanske snarare många vuxna som behöver utbildas🥺

Back to the wolves. Wild animals should live freely in the nature where they belong, but maybe the Wolf project is needed to teach American kids about wolves and how they’re an important piece in the ecosystem and a necessity for keeping the nature in its balance. In Sweden I’m pretty sure that our kids know this, but education for some of the adults might be good though🥺

I övrigt den här veckan så har jag druckit mitt dyraste kaffe någonsin. 2000kr/kg!!! Odlat och handplockat på Hawaii! Tack Brad för att du lät mig prova det här kaffet! 

Otherwise this week I’ve been drinking and enjoying the most expensive coffee ☕️ in my life so far! $200/kilogram. Grown and handpicked on Hawaii. Thank you Brad for giving me this sample! 

Förresten... undrar vilken färg på julkulor vi ska ha i år???

By the way... I wonder what color we’ll choose for our Christmas decorations this year???
